Hey there and welcome!

Arizona, Cattle photos, and brandings!!

Branding season is nearly over and cattle will be turned out on the grass to fatten up for the summer

May is usually a quiet month for me. It's a time to get grounded and ready for the busy summer and fall that is right around the corner. I love May in Montana because you get to literally watch the grass grow and feel the warmer weather coming on!

This year I decided to take a trip to Arizona with my mom. I've always loved the desert! There is something magical there. It just makes me feel awake. Im not sure how else to put it.

The day after I got home I jumped right back into work and headed out to the Wickens Ranch in Winifred for a branded shoot for Montgomery Distillery in Missoula. We co-shot with White's Boots as well.

And because I have had so many people ask. I created a blog post on how to take better photos of cattle.

My trip to Arizona

There are so many beautiful things about Arizona, but the highlight was actually on the drive home when we traveled through the Navajo Reservation. I have been on the hunt for a few handmade sterling rings and as an artist it means so much more to me when I can meet the artist of the item I'm buying.

As we traveled through the reservation, it was Mother's Day and there were so many vendors along the side of the road selling their handmade goods. I drove along till I came across one that felt right to stop at.

I met Beth and Michael first. Beth had so many wonderful handmade necklaces and bracelets that she and her daughter made. I thought it was so sweet how Michael took us around and told us the meaning behind all the pieces that she made. He was very proud of her and her talent.

I found a beautiful beaded bracelet and mom found a necklace. She then guided us to some ladies on a cliff up above that would have some rings.

I came here and met Theresa and found two of the most beautiful rings. I purchased them both! Theresa was very sweet and let them take a picture of her and her booth. These ladies are truly talented artists. I found a beautiful beaded bracelet and mom found a necklace. She then guided us to some ladies on a cliff up above that would have some rings.

The Navajo Reservation was an extraordinary place to drive through. It gave me a feeling of piece and I could feel there was definitely something larger out there than myself. This is a reminder that I often need especially as I approach the busy season always learning how to slow it down and just enjoy where I am currently at.

Also, I would like to share a small piece from Indi Earls newsletter this month about balance. I feel it's fitting as we round the corner to the very busy season of summer.

"I don’t necessarily think balance is a place to get to as it feels unrealistic to hold for more than a few moments, but moreso a north star to point towards that gives me a path that's aimed to nourish the pieces of our lives that ebb and flow, helping us tune in and listen a little more gently to the inner self that knows exactly what we need.

I’ve never been that great with discipline, but I’ve been teaching myself how to approach making those better decisions from a place of love and self-respect rather than trying to force myself into this new version of self because I “should”.Discipline has always felt so masculine to me – but I’m learning it can be the most feminine, soft daily practice I can do to give myself the life I want."

Well thanks for hanging with me and we will talk soon!
